Allen Iverson to play in the SBA All-Star Celebrity Basketball Game at the Frank Erwin Center September 11!
| WHO: | Allen Iverson will join current professional players and SBA All-Stars such as Hot Sauce, Baby Shaq, Air Up There, Pat Da-Roc and White Chocolate for the SBA All-Star Celebrity Basketball Game. Iverson attended Bethel High School in Hampton, Va. where he led the school’s football and basketball teams to state championships. He was offered a scholarship to play basketball for Georgetown University and during his freshman year, Iverson won both Big East Rookie of the year and Big East Defensive Player of the year. After his sophomore season, Iverson declared for the 1996 NBA draft and was taken by the Philadelphia 76ers with the No. 1 overall pick. Iverson won Rookie of the year and went on to establish himself as one of the league’s top players. After averaging more than 30 points per game for four seasons, he was honored with the prestigious NBA MVP award for the 2000-2001 season.
