H-E-B donating 1,000 “Fire Relief: The Concert for Central Texas” tickets to local firefighters and first responders in recognition of their service
AUSTIN, Texas – In a gesture of gratitude, H-E-B will give a special gift of 1,000 tickets to Fire Relief: The Concert for Central Texas at the Frank Erwin Center Oct. 17 to firefighters and first responders that have helped combat wildfires in central Texas. The concert will feature performances by George Strait, Dixie Chicks, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Asleep at the Wheel, and special guests Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Christopher Cross, Texas Tornados, Randy Rogers and Terri Hendrix. Emcees for the evening will include Kyle Chandler and Turk Pipkin.
“We are committed to continuing H-E-B’s relief assistance during this heart-wrenching time of crisis as many of our neighbors face loss and uncertainty due to the wildfires,” said Leslie Sweet, H-E-B Director of Public Affairs. “H-E-B’s concert ticket donation for firefighters and first responders is just another way to thank them for the countless hours they have spent fighting wildfires.”
In addition to H-E-B, other sponsors include AT&T, Dell, Big House Sound, Southwest Airlines, Chevron, Delaware North Companies, ExxonMobil and Farmers Insurance. Midnight Lighting, Fender, Global Event Group, MobileJets, Ilios Lighting, W Hotel Group, Peavey, Soundcheck Austin, Sysco, Ben E. Keith Foods, Shiner, Onstage Systems, Telescript West and Republic Print are also supporting the concert. Contributions are still being made and all supporters will be recognized.
The goal of Fire Relief: The Concert for Central Texas is to help the people affected by the fires with long-term issues and problems, such as regaining their livelihoods. All of the net proceeds will be dispersed to central Texas community organizations and charities via the Central Texas Wildfire Fund at the Austin Community Foundation.
