Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® BARNUM 200SM
AUSTIN, Texas –The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® train will roll into the Frank Erwin Center next week to celebrate The Biggest Birthday Bash in Circus History with BARNUM 200SM, and there are several exciting events planned to accompany their visit! Elephant Bath at the Frank Erwin Center
Wednesday, August 17 at 11 a.m. – This will be an Elephantastic Photo Opportunity!
Rub-a-dub-dub… Ringling Bros. Elephants Don’t Need a Tub! Clown Alley will help the iconic Asian elephants of The Greatest Show On Earth® get ready to meet their adoring fans on Opening Night with a soapy bath! The elephants want to look their very best, and with record-breaking heat, what better way to pamper themselves before the show than with a nice, long soak?!
Children's Blood and Cancer Center at Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas
Thursday, August 18 at 10:30 a.m.
Ringling Bros. clowns will make a special visit to some patients at Dell Children’s Blood and Cancer Center in partnership with the nonprofit organization Beads of Courage. The organization provides children with beads signifying treatment milestones to help the children and their families record their stories of courage. The clowns will hand out the Ringling Clown Beads, which are packaged with notes of encouragement, after performing for the crowd to remind everyone that laughter is a good medicine.
CircusFit® Seminar at Lifetime Fitness South Austin
Thursday, August 19 at 2 p.m.
CircusFit is a national program from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey that encourages America’s youth to lead healthy, active lifestyles by communicating the FUNdamentals of fitness. Like Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, CircusFit was designed with “fun” in mind so exercise is never a chore, but rather a daily activity in which kids will look forward to participating. Ringling Bros. clowns will demonstrate how jumping rope, hoop twirling, juggling and other basic circus skills can help develop coordination, concentration and discipline.
Tactile Tour at the Frank Erwin Center
Friday, August 19 at 10 a.m.
In honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of P.T. Barnum, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is hosting a special “Tactile Tour” for children from the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas to experience the magic, excitement and wonder of The Greatest Show on Earth. The Tactile Tour offers the children and their families a unique opportunity to interactively discover BARNUM 200 by meeting the performers, touching the costumes, exploring show props and feeling the four-legged stars of the show.
