TOOL is a SELL OUT at The Frank Erwin Center
AUSTIN, Texas – Touring to support their latest album, 10,000 Days, Tool performed before a sellout crowd at the Frank Erwin Center last night with Trans Am as the opener.
The stage was illuminated by eight or so screens in addition to a tapestry that ran the length of the stage. Flashing images and a laser light show added to the theatrics as Tool treated fans to two hours of blasting metal revisiting classic Tool songs while mixing in some of their newer more progressive tunes.
Released last year, 10,000 Days earned the band a Grammy Award in 2006 for Best Recording Package and their first single from the album, “Vicarious,” entered the Modern Rock Tracks chart at #2 and was nominated for the Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy.
Since 1977, the Frank Erwin Center has served Central Texans with some of the best in live entertainment. The multi-purpose facility located on The University of Texas at Austin campus, hosts a variety of events including concerts, theatrical performances, family shows and sporting events. It is also serves as the home court for the Texas men’s and women’s basketball teams.
