THE FRANK ERWIN CENTER CELEBRATES 30 YEARS!

AUSTIN, Texas – November 2007 marks the anniversary of 30 wonderful years for the Frank Erwin Center, The University of Texas’ very own sports and entertainment arena. Established in 1977, the Erwin Center has served for three decades as the home for Texas men’s and women’s basketball and the best entertainment that the world has to offer. As of today, the Erwin Center begins its year-long celebration to commemorate its long-standing citizenship in Austin.
The Erwin Center, affectionately known as the “drum” because of its unique circular shape, has been witness to some of Austin’s most unforgettable moments since its construction. It’s seen on its stage some of the biggest bands in the world: Madonna, Bob Dylan, U2, Ray Charles and even Liberace and Pavarotti. It’s welcomed former President Clinton and President Bush and said goodbye to Governor Ann Richards. It’s even hosted the Dalai Lama! Throughout its lifetime the Erwin Center has opened its doors to more than 22 million people.
We invite you to celebrate this occasion by participating in our 30th Anniversary specials. Beginning this month we are offering the chance to win a $30 gift certificate for professional entertainment events held at the Erwin Center throughout the year! Register to win at Guest Services during the next entertainment event you attend. Keep up to date with more exciting offers still to come on utwerwincenter.com. We will be unveiling new specials and contests monthly!
