PETE YORN ANNOUNCED AS OPENER FOR THE DIXIE CHICKS!

AUSTIN, Texas – It has just been announced that Pete Yorn, American singer-songwriter and guitarist, will perform as the opening act for the Dixie Chicks, coming to the Frank Erwin Center on December 4.

Pete Yorn, a native of New Jersey, didn’t wait long to delve into music. At the age of nine, he began teaching himself how to play his older brother’s drum-kit, and by 12 he was learning guitar. Once his high school band members discovered he could also sing, they recruited him to sing lead in the talent show. The crowd was blown away, and Yorn had found a new calling. From then on, he sang and wrote his own material
 
Yorn’s first album, musicforthemorningafter, released in 2001, was proclaimed by Rolling Stone magazine as “…atmospheric, gently lit by sunlight and regret,” and was certified RIAA gold in early 2002. He has since released Day I Forgot (2003) and most recently Nightcrawler (2006).
