AUSTIN, Texas – Gospel music favorite BILL GAITHER and his Homecoming Friends invite you to “Throw Your Heart Wide Open” on February 9 as the GAITHER HOMECOMING GIVE IT AWAY TOUR 2007 heads to the Frank Erwin Center with TICKETS ON SALE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 at 10 a.m.

Homecoming concerts have united fans world wide, year after year, with the classic and timely Gospel sounds of the Gaither phenomenon. “However it actually started with an impromptu taping in a Nashville studio in 1991,” says Bill Gaither. “The Gaither Vocal Band was wrapping up a recording session that included several legendary Southern Gospel music artists. After the session ended, the artists lingered and gathered around the piano, singing, swapping stories from the old days and sharing a few laughs and tears.”

More than a decade later, Gaither never envisioned that recording session in 1991 would turn into a touring empire. And, year after year, both music industry publications have consistently ranked the Gaither Homecoming Tour at the top of their lists for most concerts tickets sold worldwide in any music genre.

Audiences can look forward to an evening of music and celebration. Gaither explains, “The ‘Give It Away’ Homecoming Tour is an opportunity for us to ‘throw our hearts wide open’ and share the things that are best enjoyed when we give them away, like faith, friendship and music.”
Gaither joins a cavalcade of singers, musicians and comedians, whose collective talents have been honored with countless awards, including Grammys, Doves, ASCAP’s first-ever Songwriter of the Century Award and most recently, The NARAS President’s Merit Award and multiple 2005 Dove Award nominations. Joining Gaither are the Gaither Vocal Band; Ernie Haase & Signature Sound; Jessy Dixon; Jeff & Sheri Easter; Lynda Randle; Ivan Parker; Russ Taff; Mike Allen & Ben Speer (all artists subject to change).
