THE BEAUTY OF THE WORLD COMBAT LEAGUE

PROFESSIONAL MODEL TURNED FEMALE FIGHTER TAKES THE RING
DURING WORLD COMBAT LEAGUE’S WEST COAST PLAYOFFS

1

Austin, Texas –To say that Sarah Ponce of the Houston Enforcers is a new World Combat League (WCL) fighter “to watch” has several meanings. As a professional print, commercial, and runway model, Ponce is well schooled in the art of turning heads. As a championship level kickboxing specialist, her “striking” qualities take on a whole new meaning.

“As a child, my mother signed me up for modeling, along with traditional sports and activities like gymnastics, cheerleading, and soccer,” says Ponce. “While it took time for me to come to enjoy the various aspects of modeling, I immediately loved sports. As I got older, I realized my sport of choice is kickboxing. When I found kickboxing, I never looked back. Fighting is the ultimate sport for me and it has helped my confidence in many ways. If I'm not training in kickboxing, or fighting, then I'm teaching it.”

Born, raised, and still residing in Houston, Ponce is an in-demand personal trainer who uses her mastery of kickboxing to help her clients build strength, cardio, and flexibility and to achieve their fitness goals. She has been competing in events for the past five years, has won a dozen matches, and was featured in Black Belt magazine before joining the Enforcers’ team. She is adept in San Shou, SanDa, Muay Thai, and International Rules kickboxing styles.

“It’s fun and flattering to be on the cover of a publication like Swimwear Illustrated,” she adds.  “But kickboxing is my passion and I take great pride in being a competitive fighter. Making the cover of a martial arts magazine, now that would be a real accomplishment.”
