George Strait plays ‘In the Round’ at the Frank Erwin Center
Tickets Go On Sale Saturday, December 11 at 10AM

AUSTIN, TEXAS – George Strait is on the road again and coming back to Texas, where he was born and raised, to give a live performance at the Frank Erwin Center January 28th. Strait will be touring on his new release, 50 Number Ones, a 2 CD set aptly named after his habit of making it to the very top of the pop and country charts.

Strait’s impressive 22 year-long recording career has earned him many awards, including the Special Achievement Award given by the Academy of Country Music for his feat of achieving 50 number one hits. The only problem is the number is not entirely accurate. Strait’s only new song on 50 Number Ones, titled “I Hate Everything”, jumped to the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles and Tracks Chart in October, making it his 51st number one hit.

Strait will be bringing along a couple of newcomers to the country scene to open for him, Dierks Bentley and native Texan Amber Dotson. Bentley has been enjoying the success of his self-titled debut album on Capitol, which includes three hit singles “What Was I Thinkin’?”, “My Last Name” and “How Am I Doin’?”. Bentley was also the recipient of ACM’s 2004 Top New Artist award. Many Strait fans are already familiar with Bentley, who opened for him throughout the U.S. and Canada in 2004. Dotson is one of Nashville’s newest recording artists. After Strait heard some songs off her upcoming debut album, he chose the Garland, Texas native to be one of his opening acts on his mile marker tour.

Random Wristband Policy in Effect on First Day of Ticket Sales: Numbered wristbands to be distributed for a place in line on the first day of sales beginning Wednesday, December 8 at 9AM through Friday, December 10 at 6PM at the Frank Erwin Center and at all H-E-B stores in Austin and surrounding areas where Texas Box Office outlets are located. The beginning of the line will be randomly determined on Saturday, December 11 before tickets go on sale. Wristbands guarantee a place in line, but do not guarantee tickets.
