“Lovable, Purple Dinosaur Barney Brings Colorful World To Erwin Center Stage For Two Nights in October”

Tickets for Barney’s Colorful World Go On Sale Monday, September 13 at 10AM.

AUSTIN, TEXAS- Barney, the purple dinosaur, takes young explorers on a journey around the world this October in his newest adventure Barney’s Colorful World and he’s making a stop at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center! Families will journey into the jungle, motor to the Arctic, set sail to the beach and finally go under the sea with Barney and all his friends.

In the new stage show Barney, BJ and Baby Bop discover a world where a monkey dances, a polar bear hip hops and a starfish sings rock & roll. The show is interactive and audience members will be able to sing and dance along to such favorites as “If You’re Happy And You Know It,” “B-I-N-G-O,” and the classic Barney song, “I Love You”.

Besides the music and dancing, the stage show includes multiple set changes and state of the art lighting to represent different locations where the dinosaurs travel. Barney’s storied career achievements include being named the #1 Kids’ Artist in Billboard Magazine 3 years in a row, taking part in President Clinton’s second Inaugural Celebration and being included in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Created in 1987 by a former Texas teacher, Barney exploded onto the scene in 1992 in Barney & Friends. The show blends education and entertainment for preschool children and invites children to use their imaginations in problem-solving situations. The Emmy Award winning, hit television show is now seen in more than 100 countries.
