AUSTIN, TEXAS – Larry The Cable Guy, who is famous for his appearance in the Blue Collar Comedy Tour will bring his outrageously funny, redneck, know-it-all act to The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on Friday, October 15 at 8 p.m.

After going on stage at a local comedy club, Larry became hooked, quit his day job and went from the funny bellhop at a hotel to being on syndicated radio in Orlando and touring with Jeff Foxworthy. Before becoming a comedian, Larry also used to work installing cable, hence the nickname “The Cable Guy.”

Probably the most offensive member of the Blue Collar Comedy group, which includes Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Ron White, one reviewer described the standup act like this: “While the first three deliver comedy with a southern flavor, Larry brings us the south with a comedy flavor. He is by far the most “redneck” of the bunch and he revels in it.”

In addition to his stand-up routines, Larry also does radio commentaries. The Cable Guy first got into radio in 1992 on a Tampa, Florida morning show. After a little bit of success, more stations joined in and today 35 radio stations broadcast his off the wall remarks. Larry might come off as a know-it-all but there is no denying that he will tell it like it is.
