AUSTIN, TEXAS- Don’t miss the world famous Harlem Globetrotters as they take on the New York Nationals in Austin on Thursday, February 5 at the University of Texas’ Frank Erwin Center. Tickets start at $12 and are available through the Erwin Center box office, by calling 512-477-6060 or through TexasBoxOffice.com. For the third consecutive year, the Globetrotters are teaming up with Burger King, who will sponsor the 2004 Harlem Globetrotters World Tour.
Harlem Globetrotter Owner and Chairman Mannie Jackson is enthusiastic about providing families with quality entertainment after 78 seasons. “It’s always great to see fans of all backgrounds come out for a Globetrotter game and bring their family and friends,” said Jackson. “The Globetrotters are the kind of special event that can be shared by everyone.”
Jackson said the team has added several new elements to the game, while still keeping the traditional fun that is synonymous and unique to the Globetrotters, including:
Performing several new and amazing ball-handling and comic routines
at every game.
Conducting 30-minute “meet and greet” session
at the conclusion of each game; every child has an opportunity to meet
a Globetrotter.
Building bridges in each and every community they play
in, by continuing to visit schools, hospitals and youth based organizations.
Donating and raising money -- in the past ten years the organization
has given over millions of dollars for local and national charities.
