Press Releases March 4, 2003 Dixie Chicks May 21 Concert In Austin Sold Out Frank Erwin Center
(Austin, TX)- Tickets to see the Dixie Chicks in Austin are officially sold out. Tickets proved to be hotter than expected by selling out in a span of two hours on Saturday, March 1st. This highly anticipated concert will include special guest Joan Osborne, as the evening’s opener and will be performed In The Round. There are no plans to add a second show to the Austin date. The Wednesday, May 21st concert will feature songs from the Chicks’ multi-platinum selling album Home as well as past hits that brought them into super-stardom. The Dixie Chicks, on their Top of the World Tour, are, indeed, flying high with the success of their latest album Home. The Dixie Chicks won three Grammys late last month, including Best Country Album (Home). The Chicks’ Top of the World Tour is their first tour in three years. Their 2000 Fly Tour grossed over $47 million in ticket sales and included a concert stop at the Erwin Center, which also proved to be a sellout success. Since 1977, the Frank Erwin Center has served Central Texans with some of the best in live entertainment. The multi-purpose facility located on The University of Texas at Austin campus, hosts a variety of events including concerts, family shows and sporting events. It is also the "home court" for both Men's & Women's Longhorn basketball teams. ALL INFORMATION SUBJECT TO CHANGE Media Contact: Canela Montalvo 512/471-7744
