ERWIN CENTER UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Tips and
Guidelines for Enjoying Your Visit To The Frank Erwin Center

(Austin, TX) – As the Frank Erwin Center undergoes renovations
for the improvement and upgrade of the special events center, listed are
a few things to keep in mind when planning a trip for a concert, family
show or sporting event at the Erwin Center.
Questions you may have regarding your next visit to the Erwin Center:
Which entrance should I use?
-First, it is important to know that Southwest & Southeast doors are
closed due to construction. Entrances in use are: Red River, for mobility-impaired
patrons, those sitting within the first 15 rows of the arena and those
who have floor seats; East doors, for those with tickets in sections 28-37 & 69-81;
Northeast doors, for those with tickets in sections 38-42 & 82-86;
Northwest doors, for those with tickets in sections 43-47 & 87-92;
and West doors, for those with tickets in sections 48 & 49, 20-27,
60-68, & 93-95.
I need to buy tickets at the Erwin Center during my lunch hour, where
can I park?
-There are four free 15-minute parking spaces in front of the Erwin
Center.
-Metered parking is also available along Red River, on the west
side of the building.
Where can I purchase tickets on the day of a show?
-If it’s over one hour until showtime, go to the Red River box office
to make your ticket purchase. Normal box office hours are Monday through
Friday, 10AM-6PM.
-One hour before each show and through the beginning of the performance,
tickets can be purchased at the North box office, north of the building
by the flagpoles.
Where is WILL CALL?
-During normal business hours, will call is located at the Red River
box office. One hour before the show, tickets held in will call
get transferred
to the North box office.
How do I get to the mezzanine?
Outside ramps are located on the East and West sides of the building.
Inside, escalators and stairs are available throughout the building.
Mobility-impaired guests only may use the elevator located near
West doors and the Red River
entrance.
I can’t find my seats, what should I do?
-Ask an usher to assist you.
I am mobility-impaired, where can I park my car?
-Any available space with proper tag or placard.
Does this mean fewer parking spots?
-If you have special access to Lot 108, the parking lot located
south of the Erwin Center, then yes, you may notice fewer
spots available.
-For all our other patrons, parking can still be found along
Red River Street and nearby in university and state parking
lots and
garages.
Please observe all parking signs.
What else do I need to know?
-The South box office is temporarily out of service, as
are the Southeast & Southwest
entrances.
-Come early- remember, doors open one hour prior to
every performance.
-All bags will be searched for everyone’s safety.
-No outside food or drink is allowed.
-Once inside the arena, look for large signs with each
section number posted. If you need help finding your
seat, please
ask an usher
for assistance.
-Call 471-7744 on the day of a scheduled performance
to find out what the camera policy is for the specific
event.
Since 1977, the Frank Erwin Center has served Central
Texans with the best in live entertainment. The Erwin
Center is
also the “home court” for
both Men and Women’s Longhorn basketball teams. The multi-purpose
facility located on The University of Texas at Austin campus, hosts a
variety of events including concerts, family shows, sporting events and
private events.
The Erwin Center is currently in the midst of an 18-month
long renovation and construction project which began
this past May.
Suites are being
added, restrooms and concession stands are being
upgraded, and a new basketball
practice facility is being constructed.
