Using in-house drapes, several different set-ups and looks can be accomplished, from an intimate proscenium or theatre stage house to a single back-drop behind the stage. The Frank Erwin Center uses StageRight staging units, measuring 4' x 8', in an assortment of creative configurations- from a typical square or rectangular stage, at one height, to any configuration at varying levels from 4' to 7'. Access to the stage can be via 4' wide lighted step units, to 8' wide units, with or without handrails, all extremely stable and secure for maximum safety.
In-house electric winch system is available for the proscenium or theatre stage set-up. The system has 9 line sets ranging in capacities from 1,500 to 4,500 lbs. Rigging is available above each stage set-up. Ceiling is open trussing, 130' to the ceiling, 96' to low steel, and 110' to main rigging steel. A total weight of 80,000 lbs., exclusive of the scoreboard, speaker clusters and catwalks can be suspended with a maximum of 4,950 lbs. per truss panel point. The Frank Erwin Center will provide house technicians to help plan and execute rigging.
Four-400 amp, three phase, five wire, 120/208 volt, fused disconnects, found on the arena floor within 100' of upstage center of any stage configuration. This power is used in parallel, to fit up to 1,600 amps on any of three power legs, or individually distributed to any area on the arena floor. Sound requirements can also be met from a totally isolated 400 amp, three phase, five wire, 120/108, fused disconnect found within 100' from upstage center of any set-up. With these two distribution points, a show can be guaranteed 2,000 amps per leg for any show. General house lighting includes Fifty (50) 400 watt incandescent flood lamps, focused on the arena floor, and individually controlled seating lighting focused on permanently installed seats. Control is instant on/off, with no warm up times necessary, allowing complete black-out capabilities. Twelve (12) Strong carbon arc Gladiator spot lights, with 150' to 200' throw, permanently installed at strategic locations around the arena, assure the best possible angles to accent show lighting. The Frank Erwin Center can help you with your theatrical needs as well. Over 300 theatrical lighting instruments, controlled by an ETC - Insight computer board, and Ninety (90) 12 Kilowatt and Forty Eight (48) 2.4 kilowatt digitally controlled dimmers, assure state of the art lighting capabilities.
Television and Video Accomodations Television and video productions have access to the arena via the loading tunnel. Production trucks park outside the loading doors, the building is cabled to accomodate a side-by-side broadcast of a typical sporting event. Two-200 amp, three phase, five wire, 120/208 volt disconnects are available next to the production trucks with one additional two-200 amp disconnects next to the uplink satellite truck parking area. Typical camera positions for sporting events are pre-wired to the mobile unit area. However, additional or alternate locations can be arranged.
The arena floor has retractable riser seating for the first 15 rows. Clear floor space with the risers retracted is approximately 180' x 130' depending on the production specifications. East stage or theatre set-up seats 6,200 to 8,600, depending again on the production specifications. Center stage or in-the-round set-up can use up to 16,737 seats. Because of the unique design of the building and the absence of structural pillars in the arena, every seat in the house has an unobstructed view of the stage.
All dressing areas are accessed by a corridor, completely encircling the arena floor, allowing safe, secure and convenient access to all stage set-ups. Our Auxiliary Rooms include: * Four large dressing rooms with lockers, restroom and shower facilities accommodate 15-20 people. * Two office size dressing areas with lockers, restroom and shower can be used for production office space or dressing rooms. * Three star dressing rooms each with an individual shower and restroom suitable for two to three people. * Four multi-purpose rooms for receptions, catering, meetings, etc.; separated by moveable walls, allowing the rooms to be used individually or combined. * Reception hall is 6,400 square feet and accommodates approximately 1,000 people for a stand-up reception, 700 for a meeting, and 400 for formal dining.
* Production offices can be arranged and supplied with multiple telephone outlets and high-speed internet access. * Audio/visual needs are met with two large screen televisions, two portable slide projectors and one 15' by 20' rear or front projector screen, tastefully incorporated into the stage back drop.
