Rock Band Live Tour

Rock Band Live Tour Set to Rock Austin!

line

Panic At the Disco and Dashboard Confessional will both headline the first-ever Rock Band Live Tour! The musical video game sensation of Rock Band™ is bringing the interactive experience to the Frank Erwin Center with live music performances this fall. Special guests The Plain White T’s and The Cab will also take the stage, and so can you!

The tour will give fans that have their own Rock Band™ bands the opportunity to go head-to-head with other bands for a chance to play on the main stage in between the touring bands’ sets. Local radio promotions and national contests will help determine the winners.

Emo-pop group Panic at the Disco exploded onto the music scene in 2005 with their debut album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. The album achieved double platinum status with album sales of 2.2 million copies worldwide and included the single “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” that won “Video of the Year” at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. Their eagerly awaited sophomore album released this year, Pretty.Odd., was also well received as it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Their psychedelic punk sound and elaborate mock Victorian costumes are bound to guarantee a fantastic show!

Dashboard Confessional is led by the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba and has produced three consecutive gold records. Spiderman 2 featured Dashboard Confessional’s song “Vindicated.” The group has been featured on MTV’s Unplugged and Chris Carrabba is said to be “Hands Down” one of the best live performers out there! He encourages audience interaction as he aims to reach a more personal level with his fans. They have released six albums and are currently putting the finishing touches on a new album.

Joining Panic At The Disco and Dashboard Confessional are very special guests Plain White T’s and The Cab. The Plain White T’s hit song “Hey There Delilah” made it to the No. 1 spot in 10 countries and received over three million digital downloads. The group’s songs are also frequently heard on ABC Family’s show Greek. A soon to be household name, The Cab, is an up and coming band from Las Vegas. They are going on tour to promote their debut album Whisper War that was released in April of this year.

“Rock Band Live brings together a terrific combination of artists for a night of rock ‘n roll love,” said Paul DeGooyer, MTV’s Senior Vice President of Electronic Games & Music. “The bands are fantastic, the timing dovetails perfectly with the release of Rock Band 2™, and the events will be tons of interactive fun for families.” Panic At the Disco will be featured in the upcoming video game Rock Band 2™ with other artists like The Who, Bob Dylan, and Journey. Other groups on the Rock Band Live Tour will be featured on a downloadable content pack for the game. Rock Band 2™ will be released this month.

Get your band together and start practicing for your chance to play on the same stage as Panic at the Disco and Dashboard Confessional at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on November 13!
