Wranglers To Host Top-Tier AF2 Teams In Month Of May

The Austin Wranglers Arena Football team will host two traditional af2 powerhouses during the month of May when the South Georgia Wildcats and Spokane Shock visit the Frank Erwin Center.
South Georgia is led by second year Wildcats’ head coach Derek Stingley. Stingley’s 2008 squad features quarterback Walter Washington who, as a junior in college, totaled over 3,000 yards passing for the Temple Owls. Washington was the first quarterback in school history to rush for more than 100 yards in a game.
Kickoff is at 3:00PM on Sunday, May 4 at the Frank Erwin Center. For tickets please call (512) 339-3939
The Wranglers will follow-up the May 4, showdown with South Georgia with a Bye Week and a road game against the Texas Copperheads before hosting the Spokane Shock on May 24. During the 2007 campaign, the Shock won 12 games and claimed the Western Division Championship. Leading the Shock on the field is quarterback Andrico Hines. The Shock signal caller ranked ninth among af2 quarterbacks in 2007 in passing efficiency and holds the franchise record of 62 touchdowns in a season. The Spokane Shock-Austin Wranglers game will be Military Appreciation Night as the Wranglers and the Central Texas community honor the men and women of the Armed Services.
Kickoff is set for 7:00PM on Saturday, May 24 at the Frank Erwin Center. For tickets please call (512) 339-3939
