Texas Title Fight Boxing

Boxing Returns to the Frank Erwin Center: Get Ready for Some Fast-Fisted Action!

line

boxingThe Frank Erwin Center has served as the prime location for some of the most skilled boxers to hash it out among thousands of screaming fans. On June 21, the ring will be set and the boxers will be ready to make another memorable event as boxing returns to the Frank Erwin Center!

The last two boxing events that brought crowds and undeniable energy to the Frank Erwin Center were the Texas Title Fight last June and Downtown Fight Night in November. The Texas Title Fight featured a bout between Super Lightweight Gilbert “Boogie” Vera and Gilbert Guevara. A hometown favorite, Vera drew many supporting fans and avid boxing enthusiasts into the Frank Erwin Center for some high powered excitement. He knocked out his opponent in the second round to earn his Super Lightweight title. Other featured boxers on the card were Parke Davidson and S’Kati Katz, both defending their undefeated records. Ray Lino “Randy” Gatica also competed, taking home the welterweight title.boxing

Downtown Fight Night brought back the best of the best. The main event was between the welterweight title holder, Ray Lino “Randy” Gatica, and reigning super lightweight champion, Gilbert “Boogie” Vera for the welterweight title. There was plenty of buzz about this challenge, with the fight being a very close call. A split decision determined the champion to be Gatica, even though fans of Vera’s were convinced otherwise. This fight just goes to prove how explosive and unpredictable the sport of boxing really is!boxing

As if attending an intense boxing match wasn’t enough, we are also giving VIP ticket purchasers the opportunity to start the evening off perfectly with a first class steak dinner and access to the Knockout Club. At previous events, the steak dinner has proved to be a delicious meal that you definitely shouldn’t pass up!
