Kenny Chesney
America's Hillbilly Rock Star hits the Frank Erwin Center!

Over the last three years, according to Billboard and Pollstar magazines, no other artist—not Madonna, George Strait, or the Rolling Stones—has sold more concert tickets than the 39-year-old Kenny Chesney. He made his debut in 1993, and since has recorded 13 albums and played nearly 1,500 concerts. He has produced 31 Top Ten singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, 13 of which made it to No. 1. His music blends country, rock and Caribbean, and has earned this small town boy the reputation of being America’s Hillbilly rock star.
His inspiration comes from his small town roots, as he is known for singing songs about best friends, family, first loves and important milestones. “It’s amazing what you learn just through living. I moved away from that small town ‘cause I hated it, ‘cause I was after bigger dreams- and you don’t realize who you really are or where you’re from ‘til you leave. Then the joke’s on you ‘cause that’s where you end up in the end: the place you feel most normal- a small town,” explains Chesney. “I love the fact that I can go out there on stage with a guitar and sing a song that means something to somebody.”
Everywhere We Go (1999) was Chesney’s major breakthrough album and included hits like “You Had Me From Hello,” “How Forever Feels” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.” Both No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems and When The Sun Goes Down hit 4-times platinum and solidified Chesney’s place as one of the hottest country stars of all time. His most recent album released in September 2007, Just Who I am: Poets & Pirates, has had phenomenal success and soared to No. 3 on the Billboard 200 Chart within the first week.
Kenny Chesney, three-in-a-row Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year and three time and current Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year, is bringing his summer concert tour to the Frank Erwin Center on May 1 with special guest LeAnn Rimes. Round up a group of friends and come enjoy a night of live music performed by two country music superstars!
