Michael Flatley is the sole creator, writer, producer and choreographer of Lord of the Dance, which premiered on July 2, 1996 at The Point Theatre in Dublin. The show’s premier, though occurring just eight weeks after its creation, caused the audience to go wild with applause. By the end of the night, the show received multiple standing ovations and rave reviews that caused it to become “the most talked about, most written about, and the most critically acclaimed show in musical history.”

Lord of the Dance is a show based on Irish folklore. This classic tale of Good vs. Evil, expressed through the universal language of dance, has thrilled audiences worldwide and catapulted Irish dance to a new dimension and extraordinary worldwide acclaim. As the tale of Good vs. Evil continues and the story unfolds, the Little Spirit travels through time to help the Lord of the Dance protect his people from the challenge of Don Dorcha, the Dark Lord.
