Fall Out Boy

Rock it Out with Fall Out Boy!!

Fall Out Boy Wild Things Art

Fall Out Boy fans won’t want to miss out on the rocking fun when the “Young Wild Things” tour hits The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on October 23 at 7 p.m.

The Chicago based band formed when Pete Wentz joined forces with good friend and guitarist Joe Trohman and began writing pop songs for fun. The dynamic duo stumbled upon the charismatic Patrick Strump, who found himself as the vocalist of the newly born band. The trio was then in search for a drummer, and after many auditions and short-lived members, the band’s “try-fail-try” method teamed them up with an old friend Andy Hurley. It was then that Fall Out Boy knew they had found the perfect combination. “We are all best friends and we wanted to play music we had grown up listening to - the stuff that first got us into punk rock,” explains Wentz.

The quartet was brought to life by their dedication to each other, hard work, and a strong passion for music. “We would never have thought we would have made it this far,” confessed Wentz, bass player and founding member of Fall Out Boy. Gathering influences from a healthy wealth of rock, pop and hardcore punk, Fall Out Boy has constructed a unique sound of memorable melodies, clever lyrics and versatile guitar hooks.

On May 3, 2005, Fall Out Boy released their major label album, From Under the Cork Tree, which debuted on the Billboard 200 at #9, selling over 68,000 copies in its first week. The album achieved double platinum status and has sold over 2.5 million albums in the US alone. Two years later in February 2007, the band released Infinity on High which reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and sold 260,000 copies in its first week. The lead single, “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race,” reached #1 on the Pop 100 and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The future is looking very promising for Fall Out Boy. Who knows what else is in store?!? One thing for sure is that the gifted quartet is ready to make their way into The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center for a fun night of pop rock and roll!!
