Kick Off This Fall With Something Fun For Everyone

Backstage Flowers

Kick off this fall with something fun for everyone!

We’re heading into fall and you know what that means…well…football, of course, but ALSO a great lineup headed your way courtesy of your friends here at the Frank Erwin Center!

The fun starts with laughter this month when Cedric the Entertainer arrives at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on Friday, September 7 for an 8 p.m. show. Voted “most humorous” by his high school graduating class, Cedric was destined for a successful career in comedy, film and television. Most of us know him for his work on “The Steve Harvey Show” or as one of “The Original Kings of Comedy” but now is our chance to see him in person when he brings his live act to Austin.

It seems as though everyone is going green these days and it might just be as a result of the hard work of our next guest. Come be a part of a special evening at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on October 1 and hear firsthand from former Vice President Al Gore as he speaks about An Inconvenient Truth, his world famous multimedia presentation that confronts environmental issues and their impact on our world.

Anyone interested in a little alternative-metal? If so, then boy do we have the show for you. After a bit of a hiatus from the metal scene, the Frank Erwin Center is ready to break that trend and break it in supreme fashion with Korn and their “Bi#%h We Have a Problem” tour that is scheduled to hit the stage at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on Wednesday, October 17. The tour will also feature special guests Hellyeah, Five Finger Death Punch and Droid in what promises to be the ultimate rock experience for Austin area metal fans.

Those interested in a night of rock, praise and worship have a treat in store as newsboys with special guests Kutless and newworldson will take the stage at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on Saturday, October 20 for a show that is highlighted by the first 100% LED lighted concert experience, a series of video screens and the first ever use of a video system known as “Pandora’s Box” in the US to date. It has also been said that the drums rotate vertically during the show but you have to be here to see it so grab your tickets now.

Looking for some fun memories? Look no further as Fall Out Boy is bringing their “Young Wild Things” tour to The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on October 23 at 7 p.m. They are on tour promoting their new album Infinity on High and will most definitely be rocking The Theatre with their hit singles, “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race” and “Thnks fr th Memories” so get your tickets now to catch this hot band making memories.

Taking on touring by storm is Houston’s own Blue October. Lately, they have been everywhere but this stop will be even more special as they will play a festival-like tour with alternative favorites Yellowcard, Shiny Toy Guns and Lovedrug at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on Saturday, November 17. The highly anticipated show will kick off at 6:50 p.m. and should go well into the evening so set up your favorite playlists now so you can be one of the thousands singing along.

Any idea what I mean when I say “Meeska, Mooska, Mickey Mouse?” If so, we know where you’re going to be on December 27! We’ve got not one, but two Playhouse Disney Live! shows for you to choose from. The first show is at 12:30 p.m. and just last month we added another show at 3:30 p.m. due to popular demand. This is the first time the characters from “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “Little Einsteins,” “Handy Manny” and “My Friends Tigger and Pooh” will be on stage together and you won’t want to miss it.

Get ready fans because the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are once again trotting into the Frank Erwin Center for a February 7 show. No team does it better and these guys are as “Magic as Ever” so warm up your whistle to the tune of “Sweet Georgia Brown” and get ready to enjoy a show with everybody’s favorite sports team that has spent over 80 years traveling the globe.

This is an exciting lineup for us but trust me when I say we’re just getting the ball rolling on our fall shows so if you haven’t done so already, definitely visit uterwincenter.com and register to Be the 1st to Know about upcoming concerts, family shows and all the rest!
