Al Gore

Speaks Regarding An Inconvenient Truth

He is the author of An Inconvenient Truth, a best-selling book that details the threat of and solutions to global warming, and the subject of the movie of the same title, which has already become one of the top documentary films in history. Now, Al Gore will be bringing his passionate opinions and facts on the climate crisis to The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on Monday, October 1.

By observing his life thus far, it is easy to see that Al Gore is an accomplished and determined individual. He received a government degree with honors from Harvard University in 1969. After graduation, Gore answered the call to volunteer for enlistment as a U.S. Army soldier and served in the Vietnam War. After his return from Vietnam, he became an investigative reporter with the Tennessean in Nashville, and also attended Vanderbilt University’s Divinity School and then Law School.

Al Gore was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1976 and served four terms. He was elected to the U.S.

Senate in 1984 and 1990. Gore was later inaugurated as the 45th Vice President of the United States on January 20, 1993. During the term, Al Gore was a central member of President Clinton’s economic team. He served as President of the Senate, a Cabinet member, a member of the National Security Council, and as the leader of a wide range of Administration initiatives. After his defeat in the 2000 election, Al Gore has been focused on spreading knowledge on the global warming issue that has always been an important concern of his. It has appropriately been said that Gore has re-set the course of his life to “focus on a last-ditch, all-out effort to help save the planet from irrevocable change.”

His pioneering efforts were outlined in his best-selling book Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit, and because of the release of the Academy Award winning movie, An Inconvenient Truth, even more individuals are aware the global warming issues today. Now, you can catch Al Gore speaking live at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on October 1. Don’t let this opportunity slip away!
