Sorry Boy Burns Bright Tour Brings Blue October Back to Austin

What do you get when you put four successful rock bands together to share a stage? It’s called Blue October’s “Sorry Boy Burns Bright” tour, and it will be making its way to The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on November 17. Rounding out the night with Blue October will be very special guests Yellowcard, Shiny Toy Guns and Lovedrug. With this lineup, you should all come prepared for some intense music and powerful performances!
Since being formed in 1996, Blue October has grown into a band that delivers music to attract a diverse fan base from all around the world. With mega-hits like “Calling You” and “Hate Me,” Blue October has undoubtedly become a familiar name in the popular music scene. Blue October’s lyrics are often true experiences and thoughts of lead vocalist, Justin Furstenfeld. Keeping their music real and edgy has resulted in not only a strong following of their fans, but also a multitude of chart topping singles and music videos.
As a result of reaching a new audience with its Foiled album, Blue October has undergone an expansion with its choice of tour locations. Though they were originally restricted to Texas and parts of the Midwest and Southwest United States, Blue October is now touring major locations covering the entire US, in addition to adding locations in Canada, Mexico, England, Germany, the Netherlands and the Philippines to their schedule. Recently, Blue October even opened for the Rolling Stones! The band also performed their latest single, “She’s My Ride Home,” on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. If you didn’t catch the band on Saturday, September 15 at the Austin City Limits Festival, you have a second chance to see them here at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center! Blue October kicked off their “Sorry Boy Burns Bright” tour in Atlanta, Georgia on September 20 and has been moving along with full force to each town since.
Yellowcard, Shiny Toy Guns and Lovedrug will all be adding their alternative rock sounds to the program. Yellowcard, who originated in Jacksonville, Florida, are best known for their success with the smash debut album, Ocean Avenue, which contained multiple hit singles and sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. They are now promoting their newest album, Paper Walls, which is said to “take it all a step further with a powerful, anthemic and forward-looking set of songs.” Shiny Toy Guns, a relatively new band from Los Angeles, California, is taking the music world by storm with the regularly played hits, “Le Disko” and “You Are the One.” Lovedrug is also joining the show and will be bringing with them hits from their new album, Everything Starts Where it Ends.
Come witness this four-band phenomenon at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on November 17!
