The First Teams to Call the Frank Erwin Center Home
To continue our 30th Anniversary celebration, we’d like to salute the first basketball teams to call the Frank Erwin Center home!

12,650 Longhorn basketball fans poured into the new arena on its November 29, 1977 opening. Under the direction of Coach Abe Lemons, a Longhorn Hall of Honor inductee in 1994, the men beat The University of Oklahoma by a score of 83-76 and ended the season with a 22-5 record. |
