Austin Wranglers
Austin Wranglers: Football Country

Following three successful seasons on and off the field, including a ten win season and the team’s first playoff berth in 2006, the Arena Football League’s Austin Wranglers have earned a position as one of the league’s elite teams and one of Central Texas’ premier sports franchises.
Much of the team’s success is attributable to a loyal, growing fan base, as fans routinely travel from as far as San Antonio and Waco to join other Central Texas fans at Wranglers games.
Austin Wranglers fans are treated to more than four hours of action-packed entertainment on gameday. The fun begins early with tailgate parties throughout the parking lots surrounding the Frank Erwin Center where fans are often joined by corporate partners and the Lady Wranglers. Other fans mingle with their fellow Wranglers supporters and sports super stars in the Wrangler Club VIP area before heading into the arena for a pre-game indoor fireworks show and two and a half hours of high-scoring, hard-hitting, top-tier football.
In between quarters, during timeouts and at halftime, fans participate in on-field promotions, the Lady Wranglers keep the crowd fired-up and promotional items are tossed into the stands.
Immediately following each game, fans are invited onto the field for the post-game autograph session, as Wranglers players, coaches and the Lady Wranglers greet fans and sign autographs.
This is an exciting time in the history of the AFL. Last season witnessed the 2nd neutral site Arena Bowl Championship Game in Las Vegas. In addition, the Austin Wranglers helped the league celebrate a monumental 20th season of Arena Football. The league’s many influential owners, including Austin Wranglers part-owner Deion Sanders, have vaulted the AFL into the mainstream.
If you are not familiar with arena football, some of the National Football League’s household names have played in the AFL, including two-time NFL MVP Kurt Warner. Other NFL stars with AFL experience include Rashied Davis (Chicago Bears), Mike Furrey (Detroit Lions), Mike Vanderjagt (Dallas Cowboys) and Austin Wranglers wide receiver Derrick Lewis (Houston Texans).
Prior to this season the Austin Wranglers acquired quarterback Adrian McPherson, the 2004 AFL Rookie of the Year, who has experience with the New Orleans Saints. At every Wranglers home game the AFL’s best and brightest take the field indoors, boasting some of the highest caliber football Austin has to offer.
Football is the lifeblood of Texas. In 49 other states it’s just a game …
This is Texas—Football Country!
