Frank Erwin Center · The University of Texas, host

The University of Texas is proud to host the upcoming NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship First & Second Round competition at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.

The first and second rounds at the Frank Erwin Center take place on Saturday and Monday, March 17 and 19. Eight teams will come to Austin for the opening round of the tournament.

If The University of Texas Women’s basketball team is selected for the 2007 NCAA Championship, then the Longhorns will begin tournament play in Austin on March 17. Unlike the NCAA Division I Men’s basketball tournament format, the Women’s tournament structure allows for a team to play at home for the opening first and second rounds and the regionals, if their institution is chosen as a host.
The selections to the 64-team NCAA Championship field takes place on Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m. (CT), and will be broadcast on ESPN.
