Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® has something brand new in store for the audience at the Frank Erwin Center June 27 through July 1. For the 136th Edition, The Greatest Show On Earth is re-defining itself and the American circus with a production that promises high-speed action, cutting-edge technology and an interactive adventure that can only be defined as a circus-sized spectacle!
Unlike anything before, the 136th Edition of Ringling Bros. will be a show with an exciting story line, featuring a family that gets to dabble in every circus sensation imaginable. Dad magically becomes the Ringmaster, Mom rules the trapeze, and sister, Jan, is a dazzling dancer, while brother, Dan leads the audience on a thrilling journey to find his special circus role. Jennifer Fuentes, the “singing dream weaver,” helps guide the family to live out their circus dreams. As the story unfolds, this bold and contemporary production will look and sound like nothing audiences have ever experienced at Ringling Bros.
Along with the introduction of a story line, the 136th Edition will also feature a new, 24-foot in diameter LED video screen. The jumbo screen allows audiences to get closer to the action, transforms the arena atmosphere, and gives everyone a chance to participate in this highly interactive production from start to finish. For the first time ever, Ringling Bros. breaks through the iconic three-rings in an effort to maximize the arena setting and create a more up-close and intimate circus experience. “By moving beyond the three-ring format, Ringling Bros. is giving its human and animal performers a circus-sized playground in which to entertain families,” said Kenneth Feld. “The new 136th Edition of Ringling Bros. is bigger than anything we’ve ever done. Audiences will be amazed by the bold changes and high energy, quality production we’ve produced.”
The 136th Edition of Ringling Bros. features 85 performers, 16 clowns, 9 musicians, more than 70 domestic and exotic animals and 80 crew members. Stars of this new Ringling Bros. production include acrobatic troupes hailing from two Chinese provinces; Herkules – the world’s strongest man; equestrian Cossack riders; the death-defying aerial artistry of Super Silva; and the Torres Family roaring action inside the infamous steel sphere of motorcycle mania. And one hour before show time, families can join Ringling Bros. athletic performers in getting CircusFitSM at the FREE All Access Pre-show!
Bring your family and friends to join in the most remarkable journey you can imagine! From the Cossacks’ daring routines to the Yunnan Flyers’ aerialist acts, this show is an unbelievably amazing experience, allowing the audience to watch their wildest dreams come alive. Simply stated, Ringling Bros. is putting the “awe” back in awesome!
