The “World Famous” Lipizzaner Stallions
An Equestrian Ballet

The ‘World Famous’ Lipizzaner Stallions are a symbol of grace and majesty. They were once prized horses of war, but today they are a living form of equestrian art. This amazing show can be enjoyed by the entire family when the 36th Anniversary Tour of the ‘World Famous’ Lipizzaner Stallions arrives at the Frank Erwin Center on Friday, March 23!
The current tour features between 12 and 14 stallions performing an equine ballet, exhibiting maneuvers through the highest level of dressage. The Lipizzans prance, march, and intricately weave their way across the floor to the music of the Masters in a spectacular ballet of four-footed white dancers.
The show emulates the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria in its presentation. All new music, choreography, and routines have been incorporated in this anniversary edition with a major emphasis on the historical background of the Lipizzaner breed.
Once used by riders in saddle to protect themselves on the battlefield, the “Airs Above the Ground” is a stunning showcase of equestrian maneuvers. This skill is now preserved as an equestrian work of art. When you see the Lipizzans perform, you will feel like you have stepped back four hundred years and are viewing one of the greatest equine ballets in history!
