The Killers Slated to Play The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center
Friday, April 13

The Killers have just announced they are bringing their new wave, post-punk sounds to The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center, Friday, April 13 at 8 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Saturday, February 3 at 10 a.m.
From humble beginnings in 102 degree temperatures in a garage in Las Vegas, The Killers, made up of Brandon Flowers (vocals/keyboards), David Keuning (guitar), Mark Stoermer (bass) and Ronnie Vannucci (drums) took the music world by storm with their album Hot Fuss in 2004. Their latest album Sam’s Town was released in October and peaked at #2 on Billboard.
This Las Vegas foursome originally got together in 2002. Flowers had just left behind his former band when he noticed a classified ad in the local newspaper placed by Keuning citing Oasis as an influence for a new band. Flowers, a huge Oasis fan, answered the ad and within weeks the two composed their cult hit, "Mr. Brightside," a song they continue to play at each Killers show. Stoermer, a former medical courier, and Vannucci, a classical percussion major at UNLV, soon joined the group that became
The Killers.
With inspiration coming from New Order, Joy Division, David Bowie and the like, The Killers are sure to light up The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center with many popular hits including, “When You Were Young,” which is up for Best Rock Song and Best Short Form Music Video at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards.
