This season Texas Basketball is making strides to enhance the atmosphere and fan experience in the Frank Erwin Center by bringing live music to fans attending UT Basketball games. Local artists have been booked to play in-game with the UT basketball band and for Texas Basketball’s Post-Game Concert series.
At select Women’s games this season, a local Austin artist will play a concert following the conclusion of the game. So far, Texas Basketball fans have seen Sara Hickman, Ruthie Foster, and Elana James put on unique shows right at center court. In February, fans attending the UT Women vs. Texas Tech game will be able to stay and listen to a concert by Patrice Pike. Pike competed in last year’s television series, “Rock Star Supernova.” The only way to check out the Post-Game Concert series is to purchase a ticket to the basketball game. Tickets to the post-game concerts are not sold; instead admittance to the concert is FREE for fans attending the game. The ticket office closes at the start of the second half.
The Post-Game Concert Series is sponsored by ME Television, the Austin Chronicle, 107.1 KGSR and Epiphone. You can register to win tickets to the UT Women vs. Texas Tech game with post-game concert by Patrice Pike from any of the four sponsors. The grand prize winner will win a Longhorn Epiphone Les Paul Guitar courtesy of Epiphone.
On the Men’s side, Troy Campbell played with the UT Basketball Band at the UT Men vs. Oklahoma game and more special guests are scheduled to make appearances with the UT Basketball Band in February. So far, the schedule includes violinist/vocalist Phoebe Hunt at the UT Men vs. Iowa State game on February 10, vocalist/guitarist Carolyn Wonderland at the UT Men vs. Oklahoma State game on February 12 and rockabilly vocalist/guitarist Chadd Thomas at the UT Men vs. Texas A&M game on February 28.
