Founded in the early twentieth century, BLUE MAN GROUP has since evolved into what we know today as one of the most creative and energetic performances to be seen! This trio of mute performers is painted in blue grease paint, with latex bald caps on their heads and bodies clothed in black. They are recognized world-wide for their theatrical, humorous acts that incorporate rock music, audience interaction and whacky props. But, the greatest part is that the BLUE MAN GROUP will be visiting our very own Austin, Texas with their HOW TO BE A MEGASTAR TOUR 2.1 on December 1!
The “blissful party atmosphere” has become the trademark of the BLUE MAN GROUP experience. From throwing various food, substances or paints onto the audience, to interrupting the show to ridicule latecomers in the crowd, this is one family-oriented and humorous show that you do not want to miss. The creative and innovative instruments you see will be astonishing and unforgettable. The BLUE MAN GROUP creates a lot of their own instruments and discovers creative ways of putting the sounds together to make joyous music.
Music has been a strong motivator to the BLUE MAN GROUP. In 2001, they served as the front men for Van Halen’s band. After working so closely with Van Halen and falling in love with music, they recorded The Complex in 2003 and incorporated all of their learned talent of rock and roll. This, over time, evolved into the multi-media concert experience that the BLUE MAN GROUP is known for today.
The BLUE MAN GROUP is also widely known for the adaptability of their shows to fit their audience. In Las Vegas, they do a very energetic show with lots of lights, sound and attitude. But, the show changes in Orlando to focus more on family, humor and music. Although the shows roughly contain the same material, the BLUE MAN GROUP likes to feel out their audience and do what they think the audience responds to most.

It’s a wonderful way to start off the evening before taking in the always energetic and humorous show of BLUE MAN GROUP! The VIP Pre-Show Dinner is hosted in our very own Lone Star Room and is the perfect complement to any Frank Erwin Center event.
VIP Pre-Show packages for BLUE MAN GROUP – HOW TO BE A MEGASTAR 2.1 are $86.50 and $122 and include a concert ticket, dinner ticket, parking in The University of Texas Trinity parking garage (subject to availability) and entrance through the Red River street level doors. A cash bar will be available for your convenience. The BLUE MAN GROUP will not make an appearance at the dinner.
