April is Blooming with Hot Events

Bring on the April showers to help cool off the “hot” shows we have at the Frank Erwin Center for you this month.

We’ll kick things off with The Killers at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on Friday, April 13 at 8 p.m. This band out of Las Vegas knows a thing or two about being hot. After practicing in a garage that would reach temperatures over 100 degrees, this foursome has made it big with their latest album Sam’s Town which peaked at #2 on Billboard. With inspiration coming from New Order, Joy Division, David Bowie, U2 and the like, The Killers are sure to heat up The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center so don’t miss this exciting show.

In keeping with the theme, the Austin Wranglers will play host to the Utah Blaze (Get it?) on Friday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. and to the New Orleans VooDoo on Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. If you have yet to experience arena football, you must make it out here. If you have, you know what I’m talking about. Each game is packed with tailgating, indoor fireworks, promotional item giveaways, hot music and hard-hitting football. Enough said.

Let’s see - an Oscar, an American Music Award, multiple Grammy nominations and Oprah! Talk about hot! Jamie Foxx is on fire and he’ll be lighting up the Frank Erwin Center on Saturday, April 28 at 8 p.m. with his “Unpredictable Tour” featuring a mix of comedy and music. Get your tickets now to see this “hot” star up close and personal when he visits Austin in April.

The weather heats up in May but after the month of hot shows that we have outlined above, we’re going to be ready to cool things off with Disney On Ice presents Princess Wishes, which will play at the Frank Erwin Center from May 10 through May 13. Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine and Mulan all make their wishes come true in this collection of celebrated tales wonderfully told through artistic skating and acrobatics. Grab the kids and come on out to let Tinker Bell guide you through a world where dreams really do come true!

Just mention July days in Texas and you’re likely get a shudder out of the weak at heart. Well not here where the air will be cranking when we bring Keith Urban with special guest The Wreckers to the Frank Erwin Center on Tuesday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. This arena tour promises Urban’s trademark electrifying shows as well as some of the best in modern country music with The Wreckers as the opener.

April might bring a few showers but not to worry, we promise to keep the lid on so you won’t get wet when you come to the Frank Erwin Center to enjoy our fabulous upcoming shows.
