Trans-Siberian Orchestra

This Holiday Season is Sure to Rock!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Are you tired of the traditional sappy carols of holidays past? If so, make sure your holiday plans include the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), coming to the Frank Erwin Center on December 22. TSO will forever change the way you hum seasonal holiday tunes!

According to the TSO Web site, “The concept [for Trans-Siberian Orchestra] is a band playing Christmas carols in a rock opera style.” In the recording studio, TSO uses an incredible full 60-piece orchestra and a choir. As of 2004, the touring band included 14 vocalists, 14 musicians and two narrators. These powerful musical renditions have wowed audiences young and old alike.

Orchestra founder Paul O’Neill tells fans, “First the music is created with no artificial limitations, and then we seek out within the classical, rock, Broadway and R&B worlds, the very best singers and musicians to bring each song to life. This environment creates hybrid forms of music that normally never would have occurred, such as an R&B singer doing a classical style melody and bringing gospel touches to it that causes it to glitter in ways that even we could not have predicted.”

TSO’s last tour in 2005 was one of the 25 most successful concert tours of the year, earning more than $21 million. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will perform your favorite holiday songs Friday, December 22 at the Erwin Center.
