The Frank Erwin Center Celebrates 30 Years!

The Frank Erwin Center is proud to announce its 30th anniversary this month! We will be turning 30 years old officially in November 2007, but what better way to commemorate the occasion than a year-long celebration? During its three decades in Austin, this building has seen it all; Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton and even the Dalai Lama! Not to mention the extraordinary host of musicians and athletes that it has welcomed through the years. Help us celebrate these next 12 months by checking regularly on uterwincenter.com to see what great events are coming your way!
Mexico’s favorite superstar, Juan Gabriel, will be gracing The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center stage on November 8. He has received six Grammy nominations and sold more than 30 million records throughout his career. If you would like to make a night of it, make plans to attend our VIP pre-show dinner and enjoy music by Mariachi Relampago. Every lady who attends dinner will even receive a long stem rose courtesy of Casa Verde Florist!
Legendary R&B band Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly will bring the sound of soul to The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on November 18. Audiences throughout the world have fallen in love with the band since its debut album released in 1977, followed by a string of non-stop gold records. K-Ci and JoJo will open the show.
On December 4, the Dixie Chicks are rolling in to Austin for their “Accidents and Accusations” tour. Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire will blow you away with their incredible instrumentation and a whole new collection of original songs from their newest platinum album, Taking The Long Way.
As the holidays draw nearer, the Erwin Center would like to offer you the perfect solution for wintertime entertainment – Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO). On December 22, treat yourself to a night filled with rock opera and orchestra set to the lyrics of your favorite carols!
What young girl doesn’t want to be a rock star? America’s favorite teen idols The Cheetah Girls shared this very dream – and after two Disney Channel Original Movies and three studio albums, they have made it come true. Bring your girlfriends on January 5 and enjoy their performance during “The Party’s Just Begun” tour!
Once the holidays are over and you are looking for something spectacular to fill your cold winter days, come on out to the Erwin Center and see the Harlem Globetrotters. On February 8, their on-court antics and incredible moves will prove to you that “There’s Nothing Like It!”
The very next day, on February 9, Bill Gaither & the Homecoming Friends will bring their latest tour to the Erwin Center. Throw your heart wide open and witness the fabulous lineup of musicians performing all in one inspirational evening!
