The weather is heating up and so are the shows at the Frank Erwin Center! While the rest of the city swelters in the hot Texas sun, you can retreat into the confines of the coolest venue in Austin to see the most talked about female group in the U.S., laugh along with your favorite funny man, or see the recent contestants of the most popular television show in America!

The Erwin Center, always known for providing patrons with extraordinary entertainment, has secured an exciting calendar of events for this season and beyond. On August 12, Ricardo Arjona will be visiting The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center. Known worldwide as one of the premier artists of Latin America, Arjona is sure to rock the “Live Music Capital of the World!”

Already missing your favorite “American Idol” contestants? You don’t have to wait until next season to get your dose of AI. The American Idols Live Tour 2006 is making a stop at the Erwin Center on September 10! This is your only chance to get a glimpse of your favorite “Idol”. Whether it’s runner-up Katharine McPhee, “Idol” winner Taylor Hicks or any of the other 10 “Idol” contestants, now is your chance to see them live and in person.

The famed female trio that just made history with their fourth studio album is gracing the Erwin Center stage on October 1. The Dixie Chicks, who are making headlines for their personal politics as well as for being the only female group in history to have three debut albums hit No. 1 on the Billboard Charts, are coming through their home state to give you the show of a lifetime. See for yourself what all the talk is about!

Take a turn into the unconventional on Sunday, October 15 and witness how Blue Man Group turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. From PVC pipes to animals, these guys find inspiration in just about everything.

Prepare yourself for the hilarity of the liberally-offensive Carlos Mencia, whose Punisher Tour 2006 is taking him to The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on October 20. Supplying laughs and enlightenment for one and all, Mencia is sure to get a reaction out of you.
