Erwin Center Welcomes Whirlwind of World-class Events

Prepare yourself for the opportunity of a lifetime. An event more intense and high-octane than any you’ve witnessed; a league of fighters so tough that Chuck Norris himself created the association. The Frank Erwin Center is proud to present the World Combat League – a contest of strength and physical talent that combines the excitement of martial arts combat with the thrill of rooting for your favorite team. Buy your tickets now for this full-throttle event, which will be held on September 22.
If you’re more of a lover than a fighter,
we welcome you to witness the lure of Latin legend Ricardo Arjona. Known for his songs of protest, Arjona will heat up The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on August 12. Don’t miss out on your chance to see this gifted Guatemalan crooner.
Have you ever dreamed of being a star, a sought-after celebrity, an American idol? Well, so has Chris Daughtry, and now he is enjoying the success of following his dream. Read more about Chris’ rise to stardom in our one-on-one interview with him. Chris and the other Top 10 “American Idols” are performing at the Erwin Center on September 10.
The Dixie Chicks ride into Austin on December 4 with their “Accidents and Accusations Tour.” Don’t make the mistake of missing out on hearing these Billboard chart-toppers perform from their newest, all-original album, Taking the Long Way.
Pull on your poncho and prepare yourself for the peculiar entertainment of Blue Man Group. Blue Man Group’s theatrical act includes rock music (heavy on the percussion), bazaar stage props, lots of audience participation (audience members close to the stage are asked to wear ponchos so their clothes won’t be ruined with stray substances being sprayed, splattered or thrown from the stage) and intricate lighting. Blue Man Group rocks the Erwin Center on October 15.
Our calendar of events rounds out with Carlos Mencia, the controversial comedian that takes mercy on no one’s personal or political sensitivities. Catch Carlos Mencia at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center on October 20.
Thanks for supporting the Erwin Center, and we look forward to presenting you with these fabulous events throughout the seasons to come!
In last month’s Applause, Flashback photos for the Renegades Extreme Fighting event on February 10 were taken by Carlos San Miguel, not Brenna Staudt. Our apologies to both photographers.
