BEN FRANKLIN: UNPLUGGED (October 6-9)
McCullough Theatre
Just in time for his 300th Birthday, Ben Franklin makes a stop at the UT PAC’s McCullough Theatre Thursday-Sunday, October 6-9 at 8PM. Actually it’s the hilarious, acclaimed Ben Franklin: Unplugged, written and performed by Josh Kornbluth. Kornbluth did some detective work and found the untold story of one of our most dynamic Founding Fathers. “It’s a detective story, a revenge story, a showbiz saga. Above all, it’s a poignant and hilarious father-son story.” — Washington Post.

PHILIP GLASS’ ORION (October 14)
Bass Concert Hall
It takes a genius to bring the world’s music together in a single piece of work. Philip Glass is that genius, ORION is that work. With some of the greatest artists from across the globe, Philip Glass takes you on a musical journey from Australia, China, and Brazil to Nova Scotia and India to West Africa and Greece. The evening-length masterpiece debuted at the Athens Cultural Olympiad in 2004 and makes stops in only three U. S. cities in 2005. Experience the world’s music Friday, October 14 at 8PM in UT PAC’s Bass Concert Hall.

YAMATO, THE DRUMMERS OF JAPAN (October 25)
Bass Concert Hall
Explore the power and rhythmic energy of Yamato in an unforgettable performance. Part athletes, part musicians, and 100% mesmerizing! YAMATO brings the spirit of Japan to the UT PAC’s Bass Concert Hall Tuesday, October 25 at 7PM, along with their traditional Taiko drums, including the mammoth Miya-Daiko which weighs in at nearly 880 pounds. See what happens when these artists put their soul into unusual instruments and create a sound that stirs the heart.

MIAMI CITY BALLET (October 28 & 29)
Bass Concert Hall
Witness perfection in motion with Miami City Ballet in UT PAC’s Bass Concert Hall October 28 & 29 at 8PM. These American ballet heavyweights bring to life the unparalleled artistry of choreographers George Balanchine, Twyla Tharp and Jerome Robbins. Among the largest and most exciting ballet companies in the U. S., Miami City Ballet will take Austin by storm in two breathtaking performances.

A RIDE WITH BOB: FROM AUSTIN TO TULSA
(October 28 & 29)
Hogg Auditorium
The first-ever musical drama based on the life and legend of Bob Wills starring Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel is back by popular demand. The music is phenomenal! A Ride with Bob’s sold-out debut in March was overwhelming. The Austin American Statesman had this complaint, “it played just four days.” Now it’s back for two performances at the UT PAC’s Hogg Auditorium October 28 & 29 at 8PM.

Tickets are available at the Frank Erwin Center, UT PAC Ticket Offices at Bass Concert Hall (M-F, noon-6PM) and Hogg Auditorium (M-F, 10-2PM), on-line at www.utpac.org, charge-by-phone at 477-6060 or (800)687-6010, Texas Box Office outlets, HEB or Central Market stores.
