It's the legendary opera Carmen with a twist. The UT Sarah & Ernest Butler Opera Center presents la tragedie de Carmen, a brilliant adaptation with timeless human passion, intense drama and the great music of Georges Biezet in an intimate and dramatic setting. Sung in French with English subtitles.
The Very Persistent Gappers of Frip (Friday, March 4 - Friday, March 11)
The UT Department of Theatre & Dance presents this magical children's musical adapted from a popular book by George Saunders. The Very Persistent Gappers of Frip is the enchanting tale of a girl named Capable, goat-loving gappers and how they forever change a town called Frip! Young Capable's upbeat, poignant and often-hilarious antics will empower children to see one person can make a difference!
MARIACHI VARGAS (Saturday, March 5 at 7:30PM)
In 1897, to the south of Jalisco, Mexico, in a small city called Tecalitlan, Mariachi Vargas was born. Now five generations later, the 12-member ensemble has earned the title “El Mejor Mariachi Del Mundo” (The Best Mariachi in the World). Experience the Austin premiere of Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, a Mexican musical extravaganza!

Five time Grammy Award-winner Alicia Keys brings her unmistakable blend of soul, hip-hop, jazz and classical music to Bass Concert Hall. This piano playing soulstress sings hits from her Grammy nominated sophomore album The Diary of Alicia Keys, 7-times platinum!
