Jimmy Earl Completes Successful One-Year Term as IAAM President
Jimmy Earl, Certified Facilities Executive (CFE) and associate director of the Frank Erwin Center, completed his one-year term as president for the International Association of Assembly Managers last month. IAAM is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement and professional development of public assembly facility manager members through promotion and development of quality programs and services.
Earl’s theme for his year as president of IAAM was, “Out of many, we are one.” This message was shared all over the world as Earl traveled to conferences held in Glasgow, London, Budapest, Amsterdam, Brisbane, Seattle, Philadelphia and many other cities. In addition to his speaking engagements, Earl attended conferences and seminars addressing issues facing public assembly facility managers. The conference’s subjects ranged from live music to venue management and security.
Earl’s presidency ended with a trip to Washington D.C. for the IAAM 80th Annual Conference and Trade Show July 15-19, 2005. The 5-day event covered a range of topics including updated Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, facility sponsorships, safety and security issues, and fan behavior at sporting events. Earl also gave a keynote speech wrapping up his term as President of IAAM. This year’s IAAM conference was held in conjunction with the National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) for the first time.
Earl, a 28-year industry veteran, became a member of IAAM in 1987. He started his presidency at last year’s IAAM Annual Conference and Trade Show in Reno, Nevada. |
