Summertime Fun at the Frank Erwin Center

If you follow American Idol you can supplement your AI addiction next month with a live performance by Kelly Clarkson at The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center. The Burleson, Texas native will be bringing her singing talents back to her home state July 7. Tickets for this concert go on sale Saturday, June 4 at 10am, so don’t miss your chance to see this pop culture icon at the Erwin Center!

A long time ago (long before the first Applause came out) the circus would announce its arrival by sending out groups of men with buckets of paste and paint brushes to post fantastic circus posters around town so everyone knew the circus was coming when they saw the beautiful drawings of lions, clowns and daredevils. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®, now in its 134th year, is one of the circuses that used this form of letting people know that they were coming to their town. Now we have publications like Applause to let everyone know that the circus is coming! Of course over 134 years some things have changed, but the traditional acts that thrill – the aerialists, the tightrope walkers, the lion tamers – will all be in Austin in August along with new, spectacular performances!

We also have some exciting news to tell you this month! Texas Box Office has a new online feature that will allow you to be the first to know about family shows, concerts, sporting events, special promotions and more. You can even choose to receive Applause via e-mail.

We promised you last month to give you more information about reserving multi-purpose rooms and spaces at the Frank Erwin Center and we are delivering on that promise this month. This venue is very versatile and a good place to keep in mind when you’re hosting conferences, wedding receptions, luncheons or large events.
