Tyler Perry's
Why Did I Get Married?
Starring Kelly Price
Saturday, October 9 and Sunday, October 10

THE
RISING STAR OF KELLY PRICE
The star of Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get married?” isn’t
an unknown. In fact, Kelly Price has worked with some of the
biggest names in the music industry and has been making music
for over a decade. Price spent many of her early years in the
music business behind the scenes singing back-up vocals for
stars like Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Faith Evans and Brian
McKnight, but in this production she is front and center as
the star of a show Tyler Perry wrote just for her.
While Price is impressive as the star of “Why Did I Get Married?” some
of her biggest successes have come off the stage. Price lent her voice
to Puff Daddy’s “No Way Out” and was the featured voice
on the Notorious B.I.G’s “Mo Money, Mo Problems.” She
has also collaborated with Whitney Houston, R. Kelly, Wynonna Judd, and
Elton John, quite a resume for any artist. In 1998 Price released her
solo debut Soul of a Woman and followed up with Mirror, Mirror and a
Christmas album, One Family: A Christmas Album.
Tyler Perry, who has written and starred in other successful urban stage
productions, wrote, directed and produced “Why Did I Get Married,” but
does not star in the play. Instead Price shines in his new creation.
You can catch Price live in 4 performances October 9 and October 10 at
The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center.
