Hooked Up With Larry The Cable Guy

Larry the Cable Guy offers his audience good ‘ole fashioned country-fried comedy. His recipe includes uproarious social commentaries and sidesplitting analogies with topics ranging from flea markets to Southern accents to NASCAR fans.

The son of an Elvis impersonator (his mother) and a multi-war veteran (his father), Larry the Cable Guy enjoyed a characteristic Southern rearing. He, like many Floridians, fancies NASCAR, Budweiser, and Miss September. He began his career moonlighting as a stand-up comedian while working as a Ramada bellhop by day. In 1992, he charmed listeners with wit as a character on a Tampa Bay morning show. Syndication of his act soon followed, fostering him a fan base across Florida and soon spanning the country.

In 2000, Larry the Cable Guy, along with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Ron White, embarked on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. The foursome packed venues across the country, reigning as the top comedy concert for over two years. The success of the tour warranted the bestselling movie, which produced top ratings when premiered on Comedy Central. Foxworthy, Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy now star in Blue Collar TV, a WB sketch comedy inspired by the tour. Armed with momentum following the success of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, Larry the Cable Guy released the solo DVD “Git-R-Done” in May 2004.

This flannel-clad comic leaves his audiences laughing at his bits long after their end. For a taste of Larry’s humor, check out his 2001 CD, “Lord I Apologize.” His flavor of one-liner comedy resonates with viewers, regularly leaving them with a side ache. Git-R-Done!
