Ornette Coleman
Born in Ft. Worth in 1930, Ornette Coleman started playing the
saxophone at 14 and in the late 1950s burst onto the New York
jazz scene with a revolutionary sound that broke all the rules.
Coleman's controversial jazz style, grounded in a complete freedom
of expression, transformed the art form and changed the way
people listen to modern music. Ornette Coleman, composer, revolutionary,
father of free jazz, plays in Texas one night and one night
only, Sunday, November 14 at Bass Concert Hall. 
American Ballet Theatre

Jim Brickman & Friends
Get into the Christmas spirit with the uplifting sounds of Jim
Brickman & Friends, Holiday Concert. This composer and piano
sensation has been called, “the best kept secret in pop
music” (Chicago Sun-Times). Well, the secret is out! After
more than ten years of creating hit songs from Valentine (with
Martina McBride) to Love of My Life (with Michael W. Smith),
Brickman has amassed a huge following and not to mention ten
albums, five gold or platinum. His “friends” include
98 Degrees heartthrob Jeff Timmons and rising star Kristy Starling,
the Today Show Superstar winner. Jim Brickman & Friends
is a must-see for the whole family, Thursday, December 23
at Bass Concert Hall.

Little Shop of Horrors
From the Broadway in Austin file, you have never seen a “little
shop” like this one. It's the new revival of everybody's
favorite tale of boy-meets-girl, girl-meets-plant, plant-eats-world
that recently took NYC by storm. Little Shop of Horrors is the
musical comedy masterpiece about a loser, the girl he loves
and the man-eating plant that changes their lives forever. The
show is “hilarious, Little Shop hits the mark” (Dallas
Morning News). See for yourself, Wednesday-Sunday, February
9-13, Bass Concert Hall.
