Look Who's Coming…

Ornette Coleman

Born in Ft. Worth in 1930, Ornette Coleman started playing the saxophone at 14 and in the late 1950s burst onto the New York jazz scene with a revolutionary sound that broke all the rules. Coleman's controversial jazz style, grounded in a complete freedom of expression, transformed the art form and changed the way people listen to modern music. Ornette Coleman, composer, revolutionary, father of free jazz, plays in Texas one night and one night only, Sunday, November 14 at Bass Concert Hall.

American Ballet Theatre

Magic in motion. For more than half a century American Ballet Theatre has brought us “the most spectacular dancing in the world” (The New York Times). Boasting a wide-ranging repertoire of classic and contemporary works that include Mozartiana, Petit Mort/Sechs Tanze and Pillar of Fire, American Ballet Theatre rocks! Experience the passion, power and movement of one of the premiere events of the year, Friday and Saturday, November 19-20, Bass Concert Hall.

Jim Brickman & Friends

Get into the Christmas spirit with the uplifting sounds of Jim Brickman & Friends, Holiday Concert. This composer and piano sensation has been called, “the best kept secret in pop music” (Chicago Sun-Times). Well, the secret is out! After more than ten years of creating hit songs from Valentine (with Martina McBride) to Love of My Life (with Michael W. Smith), Brickman has amassed a huge following and not to mention ten albums, five gold or platinum. His “friends” include 98 Degrees heartthrob Jeff Timmons and rising star Kristy Starling, the Today Show Superstar winner. Jim Brickman & Friends is a must-see for the whole family, Thursday, December 23 at Bass Concert Hall.

Little Shop of Horrors

From the Broadway in Austin file, you have never seen a “little shop” like this one. It's the new revival of everybody's favorite tale of boy-meets-girl, girl-meets-plant, plant-eats-world that recently took NYC by storm. Little Shop of Horrors is the musical comedy masterpiece about a loser, the girl he loves and the man-eating plant that changes their lives forever. The show is “hilarious, Little Shop hits the mark” (Dallas Morning News). See for yourself, Wednesday-Sunday, February 9-13, Bass Concert Hall.
