UIL Basketball Championships Sweep
Into Erwin Center
Welcome
to the first leg of March Madness: the 2004 high school basketball
state championship. High school hot shots from all
over Texas will arrive in Austin this month for a chance to strut
their stuff and take home the prestigious UIL (University
Interscholastic League) title.
Ever been in Austin during state playoff time? Then you know to
take advantage of the UIL Tournament shuttle service. Game goers
can park for free in the east lot outside the Foley’s department
store entrance at Highland Mall at the northwest intersection
of Highway 290 and I-35 (exit 238A). Mall pick-up/drop-off is
located near the corner of Middle Fiskville Road on Highland Mall
Blvd. Shuttle bus drop-off/pick-up is located on the east side
of the Erwin Center on the southbound access road. The shuttle
will run both weekends on Thursday from 7:30AM until 11:00P, Friday
from 8:30AM until 10:00PM, and Saturday from 8:00AM until 10:30PM.
Unlimited shuttle passes are $10 and a single roundtrip ticket
is $3.
The University Interscholastic League was created by the University
of Texas at Austin to provide leadership and guidance to public
school debate teachers and athletic coaches. Since its inception,
the UIL has grown into the largest interschool organization
of its kind. It exists to provide educational extracurricular
academic,
athletic and music activities. |
