The Theatre At The Frank Erwin Center

Lights, Camera, Theatre

After much anticipation, The Frank Erwin Center is raising the curtain on its newest entertainment site – The Theatre. The Theatre reduces the size of the Erwin Center by half to create a more intimate atmosphere for entertainment and can seat approximately 7,000. Depending on the type of show, the Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center can be transformed using floor-to-ceiling curtains and a chandelier. Standard with every event is the Erwin Center’s state-of-the art lighting and sound capabilities.

With the Theatre’s new seating layout, the stage and performers are closer to the audience, creating a personal impact on both entertainer and audience member. In addition, the Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center also creates more booking opportunities for other acts, such as classical and contemporary solo musicians.

Since 1977, the Erwin Center has been Austin’s as well as Central Texas’ premier event venue. With seating up to 17,800, the arena is an ideal setting for large-scale concerts, sporting events and family shows. Past performances include Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Cher, Eric Clapton and U2. The Theatre at the Frank Erwin Center will make its official debut with the opening of Madea’s Class Reunion on March 26.
