Fès Festival of World Sacred Music

Music is the language of the soul, and this festival takes you
to a city in Morocco, where people gather annually to celebrate
their diversity and share an uplifting experience through music.
Like walking through a musical bazaar, you'll sample Jewish Sephardic
music, American Gospel music, Algerian and Moroccan music and
much more.
The Fes Festival of World Sacred Music was founded after the 1991
Gulf War to celebrate the power of music to promote peace and
understanding. This intercultural dialogue of the spirit will
conquer your heart. Fes Festival whisks you away to a cultural
crossroads where people dance to the rhythms and the music of
the sacred.

Set backstage at San Antonio's famous Majestic
Theatre, this heartwarming opera introduces us to a troupe of
vaudeville actors who lament
the end of an era, and the dawn of the age of film. The Old Majestic
bubbles over with charm and wit, and this presentation by the
UT PAC and UT Opera Theatre will mark the first staged
production
of the work.
San Antonio native, Robert Xavier Rodriguez's poignant libretto
includes actual routines and quotes from vaudeville performers
who must decide whether to move on with their lives or go down
with the ship. The esteemed composer will be in Austin to attend
the production.
