Madea's Class Reunion

March 26-27

Perry a Class-Act with Madea

Before every performance, Tyler Perry prays. He prays he can reach each and every person in his audience: grandmothers raising their children’s children, troubled married couples, young men without fathers. Perry considers his job a blessed one- he brings joy to his followers and if all goes well, hope.

Like most people today, Perry grows tired of the negative images portrayed on television. He considers his shows a traveling tour of hope that provides an outlet from such imagery. In fact, his shows are designed to be a place where people can “sit and laugh at their culture, a place far away from hard and cruel reality.”

With his latest effort, “Madea’s Class Reunion,” Perry is back with rave reviews from the Washington Post and the Philadelphia Tribune. In his sixth year as one of America’s top playwrights, Perry is nominated for four NAACP Theatre Awards. Through changing subject matter, Tyler Perry remains true to his thought-provoking, soul-searching way of story telling- a style to which audiences not only love, but have grown accustomed.
