Piano Lessons Paying Off

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on January 28, 1968, Sarah McLachlan began her vocal training, classical piano and guitar lessons at an early age. Since her debut in 1988, McLachlan’s atmospheric folk-pop has gained a devoted following of fans not only in Canada, where she has established star status, but also in the U.S. and U.K.

By the end of the 90s McLachlan had become a powerful force in popular music. Her music mingled introspection with ethereal vocals and slick electronic textures, and songs like the fragile “Angel” or the rapturous “Possession” were soundtracks to the ecstasies and disappointments of her fans. Each album has shown her growing both as a musician and songwriter, continually redefining herself and emerging as a major voice in the growing Adult Alternative pop format.

McLachlan is also a major touring force; in addition to her current Afterglow Live tour, the ground-breaking Lilith Fair brought together 2 million people with three consecutive years of touring and raised more than $7 million for charities.

Free-spirited songstress Butterfly Boucher will open for McLachlan. The middle child of seven daughters, the multi-talented Boucher began experimenting with various instruments on a four-track recorder at age ten. She has since recorded her debut album, Flutterby.

Tickets for Sarah McLachlan with special guest Butterfly Boucher at the Frank Erwin Center, Friday, July 23 at 8PM are $45, $55 and $65 and are ON SALE NOW at all Texas Box Office Outlets (includes H-E-B stores in Austin, Bastrop, Bee Caves, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Round Rock, and San Marcos; Ft.
