University of Texas Performing Arts Center
Cirque Dreams

Cirque
Dreams, a circus fantasy of strength, spectacle and wonder,
will play UT Performing Arts Center’s Bass Concert Hall
July 28-August 1 for six performances only. Tickets go on sale
Friday,
June 4th at noon.
In the spirit of the enormously successful “Cirque Ingenieux” comes
the latest creation from Cirque Productions, “Cirque Dreams,” conceived
and directed by Neil Goldberg. An original and imaginative burst
of color, costumes and amazing performance artistry, the show
features an international cast - from inventive acrobats and loose-limbed
contortionists to stunning chiffon-draped aerialists and sculpted
men of strength.
The Los Angeles Times calls Goldberg’s “Cirque Dreams” “A
sumptuous big top spectacle turned stage show,” and The
Washington Post praises it as “A soaring flight of fantasy.” “Mesmerizing
and Illuminating,” raves The Chicago Tribune and Variety
exclaims - “Amazing artistry.” The Miami Herald sums
it up - “A combination of fantasy circus and Broadway dream.”
Goldberg’s signature style of inventive acrobatics, costuming,
choreography and music are enhanced with some of the most striking
visual and ultra violet effects ever presented on stage. An aerial
ballet over the audience, an interactive music symphony and four-legged
stilt creatures appearing around the theater are just some of
the performance highlights to expect.
“Cirque Dreams” will play Wednesday, July 28 – Saturday,
August 1 in Bass Concert Hall. Tickets for “Cirque Dreams” are
$18-$45 and are on sale now at the Bass Concert Hall and Frank
Erwin Center ticket offices, by calling (512) 477-6060 and at
all Texas Box Office outlets, including H-E-B stores. Group discounts
for 20 or more are available by calling (512) 471-0648. |
